HWhat’s included with HVAC maintenance?

We follow a checklist to ensure that your entire HVAC system is working properly with each maintenance service we provide.

During your routine air conditioning service, we will:

• - Remove brush and debris from around your outside unit
• - Ensure that your thermostat is functioning properly
• - Thoroughly clean condenser coils in the spring
• - Clear the condensate drain if necessary
• - Inspect connections for loose contacts
• - Measure your refrigerant pressure to ensure it is running your system efficiently and recharge if necessary
• - Lubricate motors and bearings for optimal performance

During your routine heating service, we will:

• - Inspect the heat exchanger for cracks, corrosion, or rust
• - Inspect safety controls
• - Inspect gas line (if needed)

How often should you have your HVAC serviced?

Proper HVAC care requires you to have routine maintenance of your system twice per year. Each individual system will need to be cleaned and inspected annually. You’ll want your air conditioner serviced in the early spring to be ready for the hot weather and your heater serviced in the early fall to prepare for winter.

We recommend this maintenance schedule to prevent problems from arising when you need to regularly use each system. We can let you know if we see something wearing down early to give you time to save for repairs if needed.

Why is regular HVAC maintenance necessary?

Regular HVAC maintenance is necessary, just like regular maintenance for your car is necessary. It keeps your system running smoothly and efficiently when you need it the most. It gives you a heads up if your unit is getting toward the end of its life and you need to save up for a new one. It allows for smaller repairs to be completed so they don’t become bigger, more expensive repairs later. It could mean the difference between needing repairs and needing a replacement.
