Aire Serv of Las Vegas to be Honored as House Hero by RMHC® of Greater Las Vegas

Henderson residents may know Aire Serv of Las Vegas for their air conditioning services, but for families staying at the Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House®, they are also known for helping keep the House comfortable when their children are receiving medical care at nearby hospitals.

Because of their ongoing support and dedication to the HVAC needs of the House, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Las Vegas will be recognizing Aire Serv of Las Vegas as a House Hero during their 14th Annual Gala dinner on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Renaissance Hotel.

“Our volunteers make what we do possible,” said Alyson McCarthy, executive director for RMHC of Greater Las Vegas. “Aire Serv has spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours at our House to make sure our families are comfortable in their temporary home while their children receive life-saving medical treatment in Las Vegas. Without their generosity, our organization would have to dig deep into our operating budget for costly repairs and maintenance.”

Only one company or organization is recognized as the House Hero annually. The RMHC of Greater Las Vegas board of directors reviews the past year’s volunteers and determines which organization they feel made the biggest impact on improving the quality of life for families staying at the House.

“We weren’t only shocked, but truly honored for being named the House Hero,” said Jeremy Anderson, general manager at Aire Serv of Las Vegas. “My own son had heart surgery when he was six months old, but I was fortunate enough to live near the hospital he stayed in. I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be for families that drive for hours each day and the financial difficulties they face just to be near them.”

Anderson added that Aire Serv initially approached RMHC and simply asked how they could help. Providing meals and participating in the annual 5K quickly grew into changing air filters monthly and providing AC service at no charge.

“Knowing we play a small part in helping families in need to be comfortable during a difficult time is rewarding,” said Anderson. “This recognition belongs to all our team members.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities was established in memory of McDonald's founder and franchise icon Ray Kroc in 1984. The cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House, provides a “home-away-from-home” so families can stay close by while their child gets the health care they need. Each local House is funded by corporate donors and individual support.

The Gala will feature a silent and live auction, poolside cocktail reception, dinner and live entertainment for 350 guests. To reserve a seat at the Gala or for more information about how to help RMHC of Greater Las Vegas continue supporting families, call 702-252-4663.
