About Pittsford, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The Town of Pittsford is located along the banks of the Erie Canal in Monroe County, New York approximately ten miles southeast of the city of Rochester, and includes the Village of Pittsford that is contained entirely within the boundaries of Pittsford Town proper and holds the distinction of being the oldest village in Monroe County.  The area now known as Pittsford was originally established as the Town of Northfield in 1796.  Through the subsequent subdivision of Northfield over the next several years, Pittsford was eventually established in 1814 and officially incorporated as a town in 1827.  Today, the Town of Pittsford is an affluent suburb and bedroom community of the city of Rochester that boasts a population of more than 29,000 residents.

Pittsford is a town of beautiful parks, historic buildings, excellent schools, outstanding shopping, fabulous dining, and happy, friendly citizens that together create one of the finest residential and business communities in western New York!  The Town of Pittsford Parks Department maintains and operates eleven beautiful parks throughout the town that feature a variety of facilities and amenities.  Lock 62 and Erie Canal Trail Park, Thornell Farm Park, and Isaac Gordon Nature Park all feature fitness and hiking trails in addition to other park amenities that include athletic fields, tennis courts, sledding hills, and cross-country skiing.  The Port of Pittsford Park features a boat dock, picnic facilities, and an outdoor stage that is the location of the town’s Summer Concerts in the Park series.

The Pittsford Village Historic District, located within the Village of Pittsford, is architecturally significant in that it contains historic, residential properties that include historically important examples of many architectural styles.  The entire historic district is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  The Village’s South Main Street Business District is a rarity in itself due to its large number of nineteenth-century commercial buildings that are still contained in their original form.  The Village historic district and other historic properties in the area are managed by Historic Pittsford, an organization dedicated to the preservation of historic residential and commercial properties.  The organization is currently housed in the Little House, a circa 1819 former attorney’s office that doubles as a museum and features exhibits and artifacts relative to local area history.

The Town of Pittsford is a vibrant, energetic community of active, concerned citizens supported by strong civic leadership and a host of dedicated service organizations and volunteers whose combined efforts work together to formulate the Pittsford town vision of “a community working together to preserve the past and pioneer the future.”
