About Penfield, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Penfield, a suburb of Rochester in Monroe County, New York, is living its motto:  “A Town of Planned Progress.”  With a population just over 36,000, Penfield follows a strategic plan for growth, yet at the same time maintains the small town feel that many people move there for.

The town was incorporated in 1810 by the proprietor, Daniel Penfield.  Penfield served as a clerk in the commissary department during the War of Independence.  About 1784, Penfield married Mary Fellows, daughter of General Fellows who served as an aide-de-camp to George Washington.  The Penfield chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution bears her name today.

The Penfield Central School District was included by the American Music Conference in its list: The 2006 Best 100 Communities for Music Education.  This designation can certainly be attributed in part to Ned Corman, founder of the Penfield Music Commission Project and subsequent The Commission Project, which brings students together with professional music artists and composers.  Other famous Penfielders include professional soccer player Josh Bolton, USFL football player Pete Catan, actor Pete Duel, and former pro-wrestler Chyna.

Penfield is home to several notable U.S. companies including Paychex, a payroll company which serves over 572,000 businesses in the US;  Nalgene Nunc, a distributor and manufacturer of plastic laboratory containers;  Birds Eye, credited with inventing a fast freezing process that preserves the quality of food;  and Wegmans, which has appeared on Fortune's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list since its inception in 1998, and has ranked among the top 10 for eight consecutive years.

There is plenty to do recreationally, whether golfing on one of the five golf-courses, or relaxing in one of the thirteen parks. Lake Ontario and the Erie Canal are nearby as well as several other lakes and rivers conducive to hiking, bird-watching, fishing, and boating.  Especially popular is the 19 acre Linear Park along an impressive stretch of Irondequoit Creek.  Dropping over 90 feet in the course of one mile, the creek provides exciting white water rafting opportunities along its path towards Irondequoit Bay and eventually Lake Ontario.

Approximately twelve miles inland from Lake Ontario, Penfield lies in the humid continental climate zone and has four distinct seasons.  Penfield experiences an impressive average annual snowfall of 95 inches with February temperatures in the 20s and July temperatures is 70s.
